Jobbitz.com is a community-based website that hosts free postings of neighborhood jobs available to be done within a 24 hour to one week period of time. Examples of job categories include general house/yard work, skilled, professional, childcare, volunteering, bartering, etc. The formation of Jobbitz.com is economy-driven and initiated to help neighbors earn extra cash by helping fellow neighbors who have immediate "help-wanted" needs. Due to the "neighborhood" theme of this website, job postings are also an attractive option for younger workers (eg. college and/or school-aged).

How is Jobbitz.com Different?

Jobbitz.com is different from other "job sites" in that jobs posted on Jobbitz.com are jobs that can be done within a short period of time. We are not posting temporary or full-time positions for companies. These jobs are neighborhood odd-jobs that have immediate availability. Jobbitz.com is a grass-roots website aimed at connecting neighbors in need of help to neighbors in need of extra cash.

Brief History

Two days, two different conversations, and two different needs. One friend needed $15 extra dollars so that her son could enjoy an evening out with his friend. The other friend needed help with a computer program. Wouldn't it be nice if we could connect the neighbor who needed help with the one who could use a little extra cash? I realized, too, that I would love to have a way to post "help-wanted" jobs - little jobs that aren't quite big enough to make me pull out the phone book - things like dusting my bookshelves and my fans - organizing my girl's clothes and rooms - finishing painting the trim in a bedroom - detailing my extremely nasty van. I also wanted a forum to post "bigger" jobs, like installing a heat pump, cleaning our windows. Most of all, I loved the idea of letting friends and neighbors have a new way of picking up extra work, as well as a new way of posting help-wanted jobs.
